ASEAN FOREIGN MINISTERS’ STATEMENT
ON THE SITUATION IN THE MIDDLE EAST

- The ASEAN Foreign Ministers expressed concern over escalation of tensions in the Middle East.
- The ASEAN Foreign Ministers called on all parties concerned to exercise self-restraint, avoid acts that may aggravate the situation and to resolve differences through diplomacy and dialogue in the interest of maintaining peace and stability in the region.
- The ASEAN Foreign Ministers re-emphasised the commitment to provide consular assistance to ASEAN nationals in Iraq to ensure their safety and security in accordance with the appropriate ASEAN guidelines.
